For few moments I forgot that I was in the midst of children who have witnessed unthinkable human atrocities! The resilience of children has inspired me in many occasions before. I remain grateful to them for demonstrating how to maintain hope even in the most desperate situation. Once again, I was touched by their infectious laughter, warmth, liveliness, and love for life during the visit to one of the Child Friendly Spaces that we facilitate for Rohingya children. There they have an opportunity to play, draw, sing and just be children. This is our effort to bring back a sense of normalcy to children’s lives, offer support to reduce their distress, and also to contribute to their protection while adult caregivers are busy with practical activities just to survive.
