I participated in a program to celebrate International Women’s Day (2017) at the central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka, which was organized by Social Action Committee. I took the opportunity to speak up against the special circumstances provision of the Child Marriage Restraint Act 2017. Once again, I expressed concern that the provision will be misused and lead to an increase in child marriage. Let us continue to speak up to protect the rights of girl children.
