Interacting with ambitious, successful, strong and determined women inspires me a lot. It has been a joy and privilege to get to know many of them during my mid-career studies at Harvard. My classmates were engaged in meaningful work in political, economic and social sectors. They came to Harvard to strengthen their knowledge, skills and networking to make more meaningful contributions in future.
Spending time with them and engaging in meaningful conversations was intellectually stimulating and emotionally inspiring. Their passion and commitment to the causes they believe in was infectious. Their company was energizing, which motivated me to work more effectively to realize my dreams. We also had a lot of fun. I feel grateful for meeting them and continuing to follow their amazing work since the completion of our studies.
Happy International Women’s Day to all the women out there. Continue to be courageous in pushing the boundary of narrow gender stereotypes in all its forms. You have been and will continue to be the facilitators to bring changes in laws, policies and social norms to create a gender equitable world where all women and men will realize their full potential.
