“বাল্যবিবাহ নয়, সমনাগরিক হতে চাই”-এই দাবী নিয়ে বাংলাদেশের কিশোরীরা এসেছিল শহীদ মিনারের সমাবেশে। তখন আমরা অনেকে “বাল্যবিবাহ নিরোধ আইন ২০১৬” এর বিশেষ বিধান বাতিলের জন্য আন্দোলন করছি। যে দেশে অর্ধেক অধিকার আর দ্বিগুন দায়িত্ব নিয়ে অসংখ্য নারী জীবন কাটায় সেখানে সমনাগরিক  সংক্রান্ত স্লোগানটি অর্থবহ।  সম্পত্তির উত্তরাধিকার, বিয়ে, সন্তানের অভিকাককত্বসহ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অনেক আইনের চোখে বাংলাদেশের নারীরা
